Arsenal have been handed an undue incentive to push further for Aubameyang’s deal.
It is reported that the Gunners placed a bid which was immediately rejected by Dortmund and that may have seen the club renege on making further move for the player.
The fans have made their intentions clear that a new striker is needed at the club. They even offered to fund the £300million transfer fee of lionel Messi but were not willing to walk the talk.
The Dortmund fans were paranoid when the reports of Aubameyang missing some training sessions reached their hearing. However, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke is confident that they could replace anyone who chooses to leave the club.
“One must never make the mistake to believe that a club like BVB is dependent on a player. We are not dependent on anyone,’ he told Bild.
“When Robert Lewandowski left, we found [a solution] and he even has three more goals than Lewa.
“We are now so well positioned that we can offer alternative solutions again and again.
“[The goal is that] our team stays together. We do not have as much money as the top stars in the Premier League, but we have a lot of other things to offer – for example our players were able to celebrate Christmas.”
Unconfirmed reports say that the German giant is ready to accept a £60million bid from Arsenal for the Aubameyang. Wenger may sanction the move if he views the player as a “bargain signing” at that amount but we all know it’s a tall order.
